Cheri L. Philip, Ph.D., is a Personality Psychologist who has worked as an independent research consultant since 2006, while holding various positions as a survey researcher, methodologist/statistician, science writer and research fellow. Dr. Philip has served in these capacities with clients/organizations such as: the Department of Defense; the Medical University of South Carolina; SRA International’s Global Health Sector; the National Institutes of Health (The National Library of Medicine’s Office of Health Information Programs Development-International Programs); The National Science Foundation; Michigan State University; Howard University; and the University of Michigan.
Her international work has involved research in the Republic of South Africa (Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town), and Meghalaya, India (Shillong) with a collective focus on HIV/AIDS prevention and understanding the complexities of race/race relations, gender and social class.

- (2005) Provided assistance and insight on issues of racial and cultural diversity for successful cultural exchange between American and South African Musicians and Singers.
- (2003) Conducted interviews and survey research on a project aimed at addressing the HIV/AIDS epidemic in rural and suburban areas in the Republic of South Africa. Generated report on general findings of effectiveness.
